Fireworks Extravaganza
The possession or use of fireworks is illegal in the City of Newport Beach. Residents and visitors who wish to view a fireworks display are encouraged to attend one of the many public shows planned throughout the area.

The City is co-sponsoring a Fireworks Extravaganza with the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach. The fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4. Note:  Newport Beach residents can walk into the evening fireworks show for free.

In addition to the fireworks show, The Dunes has planned two full days of activities for those interested in spending the holiday by the Back Bay. The inaugural “Newport Beach Independence Day on the Bay Two-Day Celebration of America” will feature iconic, girl-rock band The Bangles and the festival will also include a number of other live bands, a gourmet food truck competition, aquatic park activities, and more.

On July 4, the Dunes will charge a $60 per car parking fee (includes six wristbands for carnival activities). Or, to participate in the carnival activities, you can purchase wristbands for $10 each. Again, Newport Beach residents can walk in to the evening fireworks show for free.  Please contact the Dunes for concert tickets, the festival schedule, more pricing and other information, at (949) 729-DUNE or
